Eating and Drinking CBD
You might already know that the classic way to ingest CBD tincture oil is by placing it beneath the tongue, holding for a moment, and swallowing. While this might be among the most effective methods, we can think of more fun ones that involve food and beverages. Many people choose to get their dose of CBD by adding it to their drinks or incorporating it into their food. Chefs and bartenders are increasingly putting CBD on their menus. There aren’t really any limitations of what foods and drinks you can boost with CBD oil, but there are certainly CBD-fan favorites and well-tested ways of incorporating the substance into food and drinks. There are thousands of recipes around the internet, but here’s our introduction to fun ways you can ingest CBD.
We can’t help but start with this simple and boozy way to get a dose of CBD. We’ve worked with several cocktail creators to come up with unique drinks that contain our product. We’ll share two of them here, and hopefully, if you live in St. Louis, you’ll get out to try them!
Smoothies, Tea, Coffee, Hot Chocolate…
Don’t be afraid to be adventurous and add CBD oil to any of your beverages. Blending CBD in with a smoothie is a very common way people get their dose. Check out this Dreamsicle CBD Smoothie, for starters. Our Orange Bliss flavor would be perfect for this!
And for cold months, here’s a delicious recipe for CBD Hot Chocolate. We suggest using our “Tranquil Mint” (coming soon) flavor to freshen up that chocolate.
CBD Butter for Breakfast, Snacks, and Baked Goods
Although CBD oil does work in water-based beverages, cannabinoids are actually fat-soluble, hydrophobic substances. That means they work best when combined into oil-based products…like butter!
If you infuse CBD into your butter, you’ll suddenly have all sorts of ways to incorporate CBD into your food! Here’s a good recipe that calls for 2 cups of butter, 1 cup of water, and 20ml of Purest Purpose Organics CBD oil. You simply mix the ingredients, heat on low for 2 hours, and refrigerate until solid!
Now you’re all set to butter your toast or waffles in the morning. For a snack, you can melt the butter and drizzle it over your popcorn.
Once you’ve made CBD butter, you can use it in all sorts of baked goods, like muffins, biscuits, and cookies. You can experiment with our different flavors in different recipes. For example, you could make a lemon-flavored biscuit like this and use our Summer Lemon tincture! Or these delicious Orange Cookies, using butter infused with our Orange Bliss tincture.
CBD-infused Oil for Desserts and Salads
We’ve covered our butter, but what about oil? Not surprisingly, it’s quite simple to mix CBD oil with something like vegetable oil and then use it for yummy foods such as brownies.
This article has a recipe for The Mary Jane Brownie, which not only uses 3 Tbsp. of CBD oil, but is also vegan. We think our Tranquil Mint tincture would work nicely with this recipe if you’d like to put a minty twist on this brownie.
A popular way to eat CBD in a healthy context is to infuse it into your salad dressing. Here’s a recipe that calls for CBD-infused olive oil, which results in a delicious tomato vinaigrette.
We’ve all heard of edibles that get you high, but how about THC-free CBD gummies? Yep, they exist! And you can make them yourself with Purest Purpose Organics. Here is a vegan CBD gummy recipe. You simply use your fruit juice of choice, 1 Tbsp of agar agar powder (to substitute gelatin), 4 ml of CBD oil, and whatever shaped molds you please. We’re loving the cute kitties seen in this recipe!
There are so many ways you can get creative with using our CBD oil. And with our variety of flavors, you can really have fun with your taste buds. Let your inner CBD chef come out and play!
